Episode 242 Show Notes:
Exhale, everyone. The “Good Warriors” showed up! Patrick breaks down the Golden State Warriors’ 112-87 Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. Specifically, he discusses Andrew Wiggins’ inspired defensive effort on Luka Doncic, Wiggins’ overall Andre Iguodala-esque two-way play, the W’s teamwide focus and force from the jump, their balance and depth coming through at the right time, and the W’s ability to attack the basket and willingness to go for 2-point shots instead of 3’s. The Mavs likely will not shoot as poorly as they did in this game again, but the W’s have yet to lose a game where they actually play with energy and intention. There’s still a long way to go, but if they bring this same effort consistently, Game 1 is absolutely an auspicious sign.
